Overview of the LevelPool System
Pre-Installation
The LevelPool system can be installed either during the construction of a new swimming pool, or as a retrofit to an existing in-ground pool. All installed components are located in the pump area, allowing the system to remain out of sight.
The recommended existing components are:
- 120v power - connected via conduit
- 1½ inch safety vent - through which water will be added
- Pool light wiring conduit - small well is attached below water level to house the sensor
Components
Main Module
The waterproof enclosure houses the electronics for the system. There are connections for 120V supplied through flexible conduit, and wires for the sensor and solenoid valve
Sensor
The water level sensor is comprised of a magnetic float switch. The sensor is chemically-rated and has internally-sealed contacts, ensuring long-lasting reliability with no maintenance
Solenoid Valve
When low pool level is detected, water is added via a solenoid valve connected to the water tap. The valve includes a backflow prevention device which also maintains operation of the safety vent
Post Installation
After the float height is adjusted, the LevelPool system will maintain the desired pool water level with no hassle. The system includes multiple failsafes, mitigating the risk of an overfill and allowing peace of mind
Electronics
The main module of the LevelPool system contains an integrated 120V power supply, a custom circuit board, and a mini WiFi antenna.
After a fill is completed, the device logs the time and duration to the cloud. With this data, the overall water usage can be tracked, and possible leaks can be detected from abnormal usage.
One large advantage over our competitors' products is the design of failsafe systems from the ground up. Both sides of the 24V AC output are switched, preventing one wire from remaining 'hot'. Also, the system is programmed with an automatic shut-off timer followed by a lockout, disabling the adding of water if a problem is detected.
